Where to Run/Walk - Tulsa Area

Find A Trail

One of the best resources for locating trails is called Trail Link (https://www.traillink.com).  Below you will find links for some of the trails in the Tulsa Metro area, however, you can locate other trails based on where you live or desire to run/walk.

South Tulsa (Creek Turnpike Trail)

Creek Turnpike Trail

The Creek Turnpike Trail parallels the Creek Turnpike between Riverside Parkway (south of E 96th St.) and Memorial Road. The urban trail is an important travel corridor for pedestrians and cyclists and links neighborhoods, city parks and shopping districts. Though relatively flat, the trail does rise over several road crossings, making for a workout on bike or foot.

You can access Tulsa's popular Hunter Park along the trail. The park has an 18-hole disc golf course, fishing pond, walking trail, playground, covered picnic pavilions and basketball courts. You can also park here to access the trail.

At the west end, the Creek Turnpike Trail joins the Riverparks East Bank Trail. On the east the trail ends a three-way junction with the Liberty Trail and the Mingo Trail.

Broken Arrow (Liberty Trail)

Liberty Trail

The Liberty Trail runs for 9.5 miles between New Orleans Street (101st Street) by Northeastern State University and where it meets the Mingo Trail near Creek Turnpike and Mingo Valley Expressway. The trail follows the South Loop of the Broken Arrow toll road until it reaches the university, where the Liberty Trail ends.

South Tulsa (Riverparks East Bank Trail)

Riverparks East Bank Trail

The Riverparks East Bank Trail runs north–south along the east bank of the Arkansas River through Tulsa. The popular pathway runs 10.5 miles between 101st Street at Riverside Parkway and Southwest Boulevard (US 66). Along the way you'll find picnic areas with outdoor grills, as well as parks, drinking fountains, restrooms and dining. The trail provides a shady journey along a scenic river. Make the trip even longer by crossing the 11th Street bridge at the north end of the trail and picking up the Riverparks West Bank Trail.

South Tulsa (Mingo Trail)

Mingo Trail

The Mingo Trail comprises two separate segments in the city of Tulsa.

The northern segment runs 5 miles between 41st Street and I-244 where the paved trail dead ends. The best access is from Hicks Park (E. 35th St. and Mingo Rd.). The trail links parks and neighborhoods on Tulsa's east side. Some crossings go under the road but one at-grade crossing warrants caution: at Hicks Park E. 35th Street and Mingo Road.

The southern segment runs 3.4 miles between Memorial Road and 81st Street; the best access is at the Tulsa Community College Southeast Campus (81st St. and US 169). At the southwest end of the Mingo Trail you can continue across S. Memorial Drive on the Creek Turnpike Trail. Use caution at the two at-grade crossings: 91st Street near the hospital and Mingo Road between 91st Street and 101st Street.
